NAWE Conference
NAWE Conference 2009, 13-15 November 2009, Chilworth Manor, Hampshire

I should like to thank all conference delegates for making the event at Chilworth a great success. Particular thanks of course go to the contributors, without whom none of it would have been possible. Inevitably, with five concurrent strands, I only managed to attend a fifth of the sessions on offer, but I personally found them all immensely valuable. Special mention must go to our guests - Graham Swift and Wendy Cope - who provided such very different readings and talks to stimulate and entertain our gathering as a whole.
As I mentioned at the conference, all contributors are invited to submit written versions of their presentations or workshops, and we are also keen to receive reflections from other delegates. The deadline for submitting articles, reviews and news items to the Spring edition of the journal is 14 February 2010. Please send all potential contributions to editorial@nawe.co.uk.
We are currently in the process of choosing a venue for 2010, and your feedback on Chilworth will help us in making that decision. We already know that, with numbers increasing each year, we need to identify a venue that can accommodate even more residential delegates and allow us to market the event to other interested parties such as local teachers. An announcement will be made as soon as possible but in the meantime, do please mark the equivalent early/mid November weekend in your diaries. For those who didn't complete an evaluation form, an electronic version is available below to download.
The conference blog is also still active for anyone wishing to continue their discussions and share feedback in a more interactive way. Photographs, I'm sure, would be especially welcome.
Finally, I should like to thank all the NAWE team and especially Gill Greaves for organizing the event to such a high standard.
