The National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) is the one organization supporting the development of creative writing of all genres and in all educational and community settings throughout the UK.
Through our publications, events and online resources, you can benefit from the work of our extensive membership network.
NAWE MAGAZINE
| The NAWE magazine, Writing in Education, is published three times a year and covers the full range of our members' activity - in schools, universities and community contexts. There are sections of this website for each of these three areas, though of course they overlap.
The latest issue (Number 51), edited by Catherine Samiei, features poetry in a variety of guises, school and university projects, plus work beyond the classroom. It will be mailed to all members early in July. The deadline for submissions to the next edition is 30 September 2010. Click here for further details and full Submissions Guidelines.

WRITERS IN SCHOOLS RESEARCH PROGRAMME
| NAWE's three-year Writers in Schools Research Programme, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, included over eighty residencies, with the aim of establishing the measurable benefits to pupils and their schools. Nine partner schools were involved, with Liz Fincham as Project Manager and Nick Owen as Researcher.
The findings are now being collated and a full report (together with executive summary) will be made available to all members and disseminated widely in the autumn.
