The Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship 2018
Deadline: Wed 31 Jan 2018
The RLS Fellowship is an annual award that allows professional writers living in Scotland the opportunity to enjoy a month-long residency in France with a stipend of £1,200.

Each year, four writers are invited to spend time at the Hôtel Chevillon International Arts Centre at Grez-sur-Loing in France. The Fellowship gives writers the time to concentrate on and develop their work and spend time with other artists while living and working in a peaceful and inspiring environment. Robert Louis Stevenson frequently visited the Hôtel Chevillon during the 1870s (he even met his future wife, Fanny Osbourne, there) and the hotel continues to offer a fantastic working environment for artists and writers, via The Stiftelsen Foundation.

There are four fellowships available during the months of June, July, August or November. Each writer will receive a month’s accommodation in a self-catering studio apartment and a stipend of £1,200. Travel costs to and from France will also be paid for.

Further details including eligibility criteria available on the Scottish Book Trust website.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 31 January 2018 (midday).
