BBC Studios ScriptWorks & Thousand Films - A Thousand Stories
Deadline: Tue 15 Dec 2020
BBC Studios ScriptWorks and Thousand Films are partnering to find undiscovered writing talent from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. If you have a pilot script for drama or comedy and you don’t have agency representation, then submit your script for free to us.

A Thousand Stories (an iteration of Thousand Films) was established in 2019 to find new voices in film and television and to provide a bridge between writers looking for a break and an industry hungry for new talent.

In its first year, the Thousand Stories competition focused on finding exciting new female writers – this year, the competition is looking for writers from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds.

The winning writer will receive a prize package that includes a mix of mentoring, development plans and networking opportunities.

To enter, applicants must submit a script for a pilot episode of a TV drama or comedy series of between 30-60 minutes.

Writers must be based in the UK or Ireland.
