Galley Beggar Press Short Story Prize 2021

Entries of original, unpublished short fiction (any genre, up to 6,000 words) are invited from published and unpublished writers anywhere in the world.

£2,000 first prize. Shortlisted writers each receive a cash prize of £200. Longlisted writers receive £50 in book vouchers and a 4-book subscription to Galley Beggar Press.

This year's judges are the directors of Galley Beggar Press and writers Isha Karkli, John Self and Erica Wagner.

Entry costs £10 per story (with 200 free entries to low-earners). All proceeds will be used in the administration of the award and to support Galley Beggar Press (a publisher set up with the specific remit of sponsoring ambitious writing) in its future publications and support of groundbreaking writers.
