Hastings Literary Festival Competitions 2018

The Hastings Literary Festival Short Story and Crime Novel Competitions are now open for entries.
The short story competition is open until June 30, 2018. Submit 1,500 words on the theme of ‘Conquest’. First Prize is £200 to spend with Retreat West.The runner up will receive a selection of books, a trophy and a place on a Hastings LitFest 2019 workshop. Entry fee: £5.
The crime novel competition is open until May 31, 2018. The prize is for novels up to 90,000 words in any style. Writers must be unpublished in the crime genre but may be published in others. Submit the first three chapters and a synopsis. First prize is publication by Crooked Cat Books plus £150 and a trophy. The runner-up will receive £100 and a trophy. Entry fee: £10.
