Arvon Short Course; Non-Fiction Tutored Retreat

Supercharge your non-fiction project. This short course is aimed at writers who need a very focused experience. If you have a Non-Fiction project in progress and you are keen to supercharge your writing in a dynamic community of writers with two highly experienced tutors, then this is the opportunity you need.

You will receive an hour’s worth of tutorials, two masterclasses, an evening hearing your tutors read and a chance to share your work. You will also have the time and space to write in the beautiful setting of The Hurst.

After you have booked, you are invited to submit up to 1500 words and/or a one page synopsis outlining project for the tutors to read in advance, to thehurst@arvon.org no later than 12th July.

Tutors
Ian Marchant is a writer and broadcaster. His non-fiction books include three critically acclaimed travel memoirs, Parallel Lines, The Longest Crawl, and Something of the Night. His latest is A Hero For High Times, published in 2018 by Jonathan Cape. He is a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio 4.

Lois Pryce is an author of three travel memoirs. Her latest book, Revolutionary Ride was published in January 2017 and tells the story of her 3000-mile solo motorcycle ride through Iran. It was shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Award. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, New York Times, The Telegraph, CNN and The Independent.
