Derbyshire Arts Service: Inspired by dogs: poetry workshop and discussion with Matt Black
Sat 24 Oct 2020 to Sat 24 Oct 2020
Write dog (or other animal-inspired) poems and find out more about putting a poetry collection together. Plus you get a copy of Matt’s book!

This workshop will help you to write enjoyable and thoughtful poems inspired by dogs (and possibly other animals).

Matt Black spent 18 months obsessed with writing about dogs, inspired by the family dog Lola, as well as lots of fascinating recent research into dogs.

Drawing ideas from his new collection, “Sniffing lamp-posts by moonlight” (free copies to all workshop attendees), which is all dog poems, Matt Black will bring fun, information and inspiration to the workshop, as well as discussion of how to work towards putting your own poetry collection.

Matt Black is a previous Derbyshire Poet Laureate and highly experienced workshop leader.

This workshop is for adults. Booking is essential as places are limited.

Date: Saturday 24 October 2020, 11:00 – 13:00 BST
