Ecopoetry workshop with Meryl Pugh
Thu 24 Sep 2020 to Thu 24 Sep 2020
Laurel Prize longlisted poet and accomplished Poetry School tutor Meryl Pugh is giving a free Zoom ecopoetry workshop on behalf of the UK's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This workshop will help you with preparing your submission for this year's Ginkgo Prize for Ecopoetry in the ‘Best Poem of Landscape’ category.

The workshop will include a series of practical exercises for you to take part in during the workshop and the opportunity for some attendees to read their work and receive brief feedback from Meryl during the session.

Meryl is the author of three pamphlets; The Bridle (Salt Publishing, 2011), Relinquish (Arrowhead, 2007) and Wife of Osiris (Verve Poetry Press, forthcoming). Her first collection, Natural Phenomena (2018), was a Poetry Book Society Spring Guest Choice and longlisted for the inaugural Laurel Prize 2020. She is currently writing Feral City (Penned-in-the-Margins, Spring 2022), her first work of non-fiction.

The Gingko Prize is open for submissions until 31 October 2020 with a first prize of £5000. The UK's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are sponsoring a prize of £500 for the best poem in the category of 'Landscape'. Anyone can enter, your poem need not have been previously published.
