Literature Works is delighted to announce Quay Words 2019, a summer exploration of words and stories at the historic Custom House on Exeter Quayside, taking place from 29 June to 3 August 2019.
Literature Works is the literature development agency for South West England and this summer we set out on a journey to explore the potential of the Custom House as a hub for literature on behalf of Exeter Canal and Quay Trust, the charity that looks after and develops the quayside.
Come with us on the journey. You can try your hand at all kinds of writing workshops, have a go at storytelling, buy books and print your own book bag. In the autumn, we’ll be developing an immersive creative writing experience for local primary schools.
Come and soak up the words, lyrics and musings of some great writers and performers. From Icelandic Noir crime writing, to story time for young children, there will be something for everyone. Our pop-up bookshop will be curated by the Crediton Community Bookshop.
Programme highlights include poet Raymond Antrobus, recipient of the 2019 Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry, much-loved novelist Patrick Gale and novelist Amanda Craig.
