Telling Historical Stories in Poetry with Jay Bernard
Sat 30 Jun 2018 to Sat 30 Jun 2018
In this one day Spread the Word workshop, writer Jay Bernard will explore what it means to use archives as a basis for writing poetry. If you've ever wondered about how to approach historical events – whether large or small, personal or political – this hands-on, multi-media workshop will guide you through the basics of accessing archives (both public and personal) and developing imaginative approaches to your material.

During the session, with Jay you will look at a range of media, including film, newspaper cuttings, political ephemera and audio clips from a number of London-based archives, which we will then use to re-think and re-imagine our approach to the past.

Beginners welcome.
