Writing School East Midlands: Call and Response – Exploring Music and Words with Mellow Baku
Tue 11 Sep 2018 to Tue 16 Oct 2018
Explore the relationship between words and music. Sessions include songwriting and poetry writing, with performance practice using music to inspire you. Mellow Baku will offer advice, techniques and accompaniment, via guitar and live looping. Suitable for songwriters and writers with an interest in music and performance, beginners welcome.

Improve your confidence and performance skills by using soundscapes to add another dimension to spoken word. With work created as a group and individually, in these fun, explorative and focused sessions, there will be the opportunity to share work and collaborate.

Mellow Baku is a writer of poetry, plays, and songs and has performed throughout the UK and internationally, in venues including London Southbank, Sheffield University, Nottingham Playhouse and the Knitting Factory New York. Mellow facilitates music and writing workshops in the community and for the NHS, with gender-specific and inclusive groups.
