Free Word is an arts venue and producer focused on the power and politics of words. We are also a collaborative home for organisations interested in who gets to speak and be heard in society.
We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Communications Manager who will shape and deliver Free Word’s communications strategy across audience development, press and marketing campaigns.
With an affinity for creativity and innovation you will understand the value of strategy and planning, you will have experience of working with the press, and will play a key role working with Free Word’s Artistic Director and Producers to ensure that our Seasons are developed and communicated in-line with our audience development and impact ambitions.
The purpose of the role is to build audiences both inside and beyond our building, in order to increase the impact and reach of Free Word’s work, in line with our aim to influence the range of perspectives shaping society.
We aim to become a significant player in the UK cultural sector – a small, but high-profile champion of powerful writing and live experiences, highlighting under heard voices and ideas of our time and influencing the range of perspectives in the mainstream.
We’re keen to encourage applications from people of colour, people across the gender spectrum and people who self-identify as disabled, who are underrepresented in our sector.
