Community Artist, Back from the Brink
Deadline: Wed 18 Jul 2018
Back from the Brink is a collaborative partnership consisting of eight conservation organisations that aims to save some of England's most rare and threatened species. The Community Arts project we will be running over the next three years will allow us to engage people with wildlife through new and inspiring methods. If you are a creative working in a range of art forms (including creative writing) with a passion for wildlife, community and place, we'd love to hear from you.

The project spans England - from Northumberland to the tip of Cornwall; we've got 19 amazing projects and the work we're doing over the next few years will benefit over 200 species!

We're looking to reach as broad an audience as possible through the work we do. Back from the Brink is therefore looking for five creative people, one for each of five locations. They will be required to research and link with the Back from the Brink projects happening within that area and to produce a single event that must aim to directly engage with 150-200 people (it can be linked to other events happening within that area). The event must occur before the end of February 2019.

The objective of this event is to inform people about Back from the Brink, its projects and its species - specifically those local to the community where the event is held. This event must allow for discovery of our species, so that attendees might value and then act on their connections.

The budget for this piece of work is £1,000. In-kind support will be available.

Please note: this quote callout is for a singular event within year one of a three year project. There is the potential for a larger, continued piece of work within 2019-2021 to which you will be able to apply, once this stage has been completed.
