The DVLP is a multi-agency partnership led by Barnsley Council which aims to protect, preserve and enhance the heritage and environment of the Dearne Valley area of South Yorkshire.

The community officer will lead on the project management of a range of heritage, environmental and community projects, along with supporting the delivery of similar projects led by partners.

They will have a particular responsibility for the elements of the programme focusing on footpath improvements, waymarking, signage, interpretation boards and access issues.

Due to the nature of the approach of the DVLP they will work across the programme so will also be involved in community engagement, heritage research and capital development on key sites.
