Fountain Tales – author / film-maker collaboration, Falkirk Council
Deadline: Fri 30 Oct 2020
Falkirk Council wishes to appoint an author and a film-maker to work together to deliver a digital teaching resource for Primary 4-7, namely 3 x 10-minute instructional videos covering different aspects of creative writing.

We are tendering the author role first; as part of this application process we will require you to provide ideas for one of the 10 minute films, which we will then include in the film-maker tender documents.

We will select the film-maker based on their response to your pitch. If you know a film-maker who you think would like to bid for the role, please ask them to email to register their interest

The fee for the author is capped at £1,500. Any tenders received that exceed this amount will be automatically discounted. We will be putting the film-maker role out to tender in October; we will bring you together in November and we need the work to be delivered by the end of April 2021 at the latest.

Application Process will be via the Public Contracts Scotland portal - you will need to register here and then email so that we can invite you to view the brief and the tender return documents.

Project Brief (author): As part of a wider £2m Heritage Lottery project to regenerate Zetland Park In Grangemouth, we have developed an activity and interpretation plan (available for download via Public Contracts Scotland). One of the activities contained within the plan is “Zetland’s Voice” which aims to encourage people to research and think about the heritage of the Park through performing arts and to maximise long term community use of a new permanent stage which will be constructed within the park.

Fountain Tales forms part of the “Zetland’s Voice” activity and will be a teacher resource to inspire local primary school children to write a piece about the missing lady from the top of the Zetland Park Fountain

The work will require:
• Attending planning and review meetings with the client team (probably via Zoom)
• Undertaking workshop planning to get familiar with the Zetland Park project’s vision and objectives, to deliver the highest quality of experience for participants
• Writing scripts for, and then presenting, 3 x 10 minute films covering ANY aspects of creative writing instruction for children of Primary 4-7
• Working with the Falkirk Great Places Project

The deadline is Friday 30 October 2020 at 12:00.
