Freelance Artists, Hoot Creative Arts

Hoot Creative Arts is a leading provider in participatory arts & health, offering a range of arts opportunities for people as a way of improving emotional and physical wellbeing. We are looking to expand our pool of freelance developing and lead artists throughout our diverse range of projects and across a variety of art forms (music, visual art, dance, singing, digital music, digital art, creative writing etc.)
Hoot is commissioned by Kirklees Health and Social Services to deliver the Mental Health Creative Arts Service as well as running various projects in a diverse range of contexts – supported living, prisons and hospices.
We are committed to offering opportunities to people at various stages in their creative career. We have a proven track record of working with emerging and developing artists to support their professional practice and growth as artists working in a socially engaged way. Several of our current lead artists began their work with Hoot in this way.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited at attend an Artists Day in Huddersfield on Wednesday 15th April. We will use this day to explain our projects and to gather information about the artists present as a basis for selection.
Successful applicants will become part of our pool of artists who will be contacted as needed from July 2020 to deliver sessions.
