Freelance artists - Memories of London, The Museum of London
Deadline: Wed 24 Jul 2019
The Museum of London has embarked on an exciting new programme called ‘Memories of London’ and is seeking freelance artists of any discipline e.g. theatre, dance, music, writer etc.) or museum learning facilitators with an interest in. or experience of. working with those living with dementia and their carers.

Work will take place in care homes, dementia cafes and onsite at our two museums.

We aim to promote the wellbeing of those affected by dementia by creating change across our organisation. We are training our front of house staff, developing onsite dementia friendly programmes, and partnering with care homes, day care centres and dementia cafes to deliver outreach activities. We have four core strands:

Collaborate: To collaborate with those affected by dementia to shape our museums and programmes.
Change: To champion change across the Museum of London and beyond.
Curious: To spark curiosity and creativity in all we do.
Connect: To connect to the community and to the story of London using our collections and exhibitions.

Memories of London is funded by the GLA and is being developed in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society.

Please send us:

A short paragraph expressing your interest and your experience of experience of engaging with those living with dementia (or relevant experience)
A link to any previous/current work, indicating your artistic discipline and/or museum background
A copy of your CV
