The Department of English at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Creative Writing (Poetry) who specialises in poetry or poetry and critical practice (Pathway 1, level b).
This is an exciting opportunity for a practising poet with experience teaching at University level to join the Department’s small but growing Creative Writing team. This is a part-time (0.5) role.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in developing poetry as a creative and critical practice in the Department and attract high-quality students in poetry to the MA and MPhil/PhD Creative Writing programmes.
The successful applicant will have a record of publication in poetry with evidence of critical esteem/national recognition and achievement, or evidence of potential, in attracting grant income and disseminating their work outside the academy.
They will be an engaging and inspiring teacher of Creative Writing, committed to developing their teaching practice and enthusing and supporting students at all levels. They will have a firm understanding of current developments in the field and of emerging pedagogies and approaches to it as a discipline.
