Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Creative Writing, University College Dublin
Deadline: Wed 4 Aug 2021
Applications are invited for a permanent, part time (0.5 FTE) post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Creative Writing within UCD School of English, Drama and Film.

Applicants must be established and experienced writers with a strong record of publication and be able to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this rapidly developing area in the School.

The post requires expertise in the writing and teaching of prose fiction in particular, and we are also interested in applicants who could contribute to at least one other area of writing expertise.

The successful candidate will teach in the BA programme in English with Creative Writing, the MA and MFA programmes in Creative Writing, and supervise and mentor PhD and postdoctoral projects.

Creative Writing at UCD is characterised by its strong links with high profile individual writers and with arts organisations in Dublin, Ireland and beyond. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to these links, and play a part in sustaining a programme that brought visiting writers to the campus for readings and to interact with students.
