The School of Writing & Journalism is at the forefront of its field, delivering innovative and creative industry-focussed undergraduate courses in English, journalism, and creative writing and postgraduate provision in professional writing and writing for script & screen. Our Writers in Residence programme brings award-winning authors such as Wyl Menmuir, Emily Barr, Matt Haig, and Lionel Shriver for creative workshops, lectures and events, enabling our students to collaborate with industry experts.

We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our dynamic team of professional writers and academics, who deliver an outstanding student experience across undergraduate, taught postgraduate and doctoral provision in creative and professional writing. You will be a published writer with experience of delivering teaching and learning in higher education. You will also have excellent networks in the publishing industry, or creative agencies. A track record of publications in prose fiction or non-fiction may be an advantage, but applications from candidates in all fields of creative writing are encouraged. Ideal candidates will possess a PhD or be near to completion, and will be able to demonstrate a track record in research commensurate with career stage.
