Post-doctoral Research Fellow: Read Not Dead
Deadline: Wed 21 Jun 2017
Shakespeare’s Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work and the playhouses for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education

Together, the Globe Theatre, Globe Exhibition & Tour and Globe Education seek to further the experience and international understanding of the dramatic arts in all its forms, but principally in relation to Shakespeare in performance.

We are currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to work within the Globe Education department. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work on a database of early modern drama associated with its Read Not Dead project. Read Not Dead is a long term project to produce staged readings by professional actors of all the surviving plays 1576-1642. An interactive database will be constructed by Globe Education and Adam Mathew to provide information about every play staged so far, including information gleaned from a wide variety of sources. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will also teach as required on Higher Education courses and occasional public lectures.

The successful candidate will be an expert in the field with great potential for publishing and is an effective, engaging public speaker with a positive attitude. You must be able to conduct research at a high level and efficiently with a willingness to work flexibly and occasionally unsociable hours. Proven ability to deliver academic content to a range of levels and age groups is essential.
