Reading Friends is an innovative reading befriending scheme which is about to start the third year of a four year funded programme. We are looking for an experienced project manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of this innovative programme and work with the Senior Programme Manager to ensure the programme is sustainable beyond 2020.
Reading Friends is delivered by national charity The Reading Agency and funded by The Big Lottery. The scheme builds social connections using reading to start
conversations that combat loneliness and isolation for some of the most
vulnerable members of our society; older people, people with dementia and
carers. It is powered by volunteers of all ages and delivered by public
libraries, community and voluntary organisations.
We are entering an exciting new phase, which includes piloting the national
programme across the UK, introducing new settings and communities of Reading
Friends, including in prisons and LGBTQ focussed organisations and building
intergenerational relationships.
This is a full time post to 31 August 2020, based at our office in Central
London, offering a salary of up to £32,000 per annum.
