Reading and Creative Writing Group Leader, Ecas Ltd
Deadline: Fri 20 Jul 2018
Ecas is a local charity based in Edinburgh offering a range of therapeutic and learning activities to adults with physical disabilities. We are seeking someone to lead our popular reading and creative writing group, facilitating the group to read and discuss popular writers and also try writing themselves.

The reading and creative writing group incorporates three main elements:

• reading as therapy (a recognised concept), • creative writing where individuals share something creative they have written (in any media form) and • discussing individually chosen writing – from any genre, including fiction, non-fiction, news, poetry etc.

The role of Group Leader involves encouraging and enabling group members to read and discuss work by current or popular writers of novels or poetry and to try their hand (if they want to) at writing their own short stories or poems.

The post is for 2.5 hrs per week (currently on Thursdays afternoons) at an hourly rate of £19.18.

Application will be by CV and covering letter. The post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme

For further information, please contact info@ecas-edinburgh.org (Janice Todd), or call 0131 475 2344, or visit our website
