The Ruskin Prize 2017
Deadline: Wed 26 Apr 2017
The Roehampton Poetry Centre is delighted to invite submissions to the 2017 Ruskin Prize

The Ruskin Poetry Prize is an open competition. Submissions are welcome from first time writers, students and established authors. Poems will be judged anonymously by the Roehampton Poetry Centre’s two visiting research fellows: poet-translator Dr Alipio de Franca and poet-critic Dr Patrick Davidson Roberts.

The prize has been named after John Ruskin, a Victorian philanthropist, political economist and early proponent of education for young women.

The submissions:

•       Must be an entrants own work;
•       Must be unpublished and not submitted elsewhere to another competition or for publication;
•       Can be up to 40 lines on any subject.

The University reserves the right to publish and seek publication for the winning poems in connection with the Ruskin Prize.

The winner will be awarded 200 GBP, and the two runners-up will each be awarded 100 GBP. The 3 winners will be published in POEM magazine.

The competition is open to all and there are no restrictions on the number of entries per person, provided that each entry is paid for: £5 per poem and £3 for subsequent entries.
