Photoworks would like to appoint a writer in residence to contribute to 2020's five editions of Photography+, Photoworks’ online magazine.
With five themed issues each year, the digital publication is read by international audiences and showcases new writing, imagery, and perspectives on photography.
Each issue focuses on a different theme exploring where photography crosses over with everyday life. Past themes have included architecture, dance, and space.
As writer in residence, you will work closely with the Digital Programme Producer and Director to plan the direction of each issue. You will deliver a total of five written articles (no more than 800 words each), one for each issue of 2020. We work with a copy editor on Photography+ who will edit all content for publication online.
The successful writer should have a working knowledge of contemporary artistic practices and a willingness to look beyond the photographic for inspiration. The opportunity would suit an early-career writer looking to gain experience writing and publishing online.
This is a paid residency with a £1,500 fee.
