StorySpinners
Thu 10 Mar 2005
Emma Metcalfe and Ray French were amongst NAWE members attending the Storyspinner training day at Teesside University. The StorySpinner project enables schools to work on narrative development with writers online.
The day was led by 'digital writer' Tim Wright, who has played a major role in developing the project. After an introductory session, describing how the project has been piloted in two schools (Hallgarth in Middlesbrough and Manning in Nottingham), Tim took the group of nine writers through the various processes involved, including the making of movie-style trailers which are delivered to the class each week as an update/introduction to the next stage of their narrative.

NAWE, together with Creative Partnerships, is aiming to promote the project to schools nationally. Two schools will be using StorySpinner in this coming summer term, thanks to support from the Writing Together Challenge fund.
