Writers' Residencies in Tasmania in 2005

The Tasmanian Writers' Centre, with the support of the Minister for the Arts through Arts Tasmania, and the City of Hobart, invite Australian and international writers to apply to the Island of Residencies program, for a Writer's Residency in 2005.
Successful applications will be provided with:

* Return economy air travel from their home port to Tasmania
* Accommodation for the duration of their residency in Tasmania
* $100AUD per week of the residency, towards related living expenses
* $400 as a fee for presentation of a writer's workshop during the residency.

Successful applications will be required to:

* Work on a particular project (as indicated in their application for a residency) during their residency in Tasmania
* Present a writing workshop to emerging and/or developing writers within Tasmania
* Give a reading and/or participate in a discussion about a subject relating to the resident's writing
* Make themselves available for media events to promote the Island of Residencies program
* Meet with local writers regarding the latter's writing.

Writers from mainland Australia can apply for a Writer's Residency for THREE weeks in Tasmania.

International writers can apply for a Writer's Residency for FOUR weeks in Tasmania.
