Have you studied Creative Writing in Higher Education?
Tue 14 Oct 2003
NAWE is looking to commission lively, engaging accounts of studying creative writing at British universities. These will be featured on the NAWE website and also used in printed materials promoting the directory of writing courses.
We wish to commission 10 such case studies, 5 from an undergraduate perspective and 5 from postgraduate students. We are interested in receiving proposals from past and present students. It is also our intention to reflect the variety of courses on offer.

In each group, we should like to see the following themes covered:

Before and After
A Day in the Life
The Work/Life Balance
The Reading/Writing Balance
Development as a Writer
The Work Produced

An individual case study may focus either on a single theme or a combination.

The suggested length of each case study is approximately 1000 words. The fee offered is £100.

We are keen to hear from tutors who wish to nominate a particular student, also directly from students themselves. We are asking, in the first instance, for students to submit a proposal of no more than 100 words, which should offer a flavour of the case study they are proposing to write. They should also include the name of the relevant course, the institution and a tutor with whom they have worked.

All proposals should be sent to the NAWE office by 31 October 2003. Ten proposals will be selected for commissioning the following week.

Please note: the commissioned case studies will need to be completed by 5 December 2003.
