NAWE Autumn Conference 2009
Tue 4 Aug 2009
The printed programme for our forthcoming conference at Chilworth Manor is now available and has been mailed to all members. Anyone wishing to book for the full conference (including accommodation) is encouraged to do so at the earliest opportunity.

NAWEâ??Autumn Conference
13-15 November 2009
Chilworth Manor, Southampton, Hampshire

As a result of the large number of proposals received, we have taken the decision to extend the timeframe of our autumn conference to include Friday afternoon. The first sessions will begin at 2pm. As with last year's event, the conference will close at 1pm on the Sunday.

Excellent accommodation is available for those who wish to book for the full weekend. Flexible day delegate rates are also available.

Please note the final booking and payment deadline is 15 October.

Our special guests are Graham Swift and Wendy Cope. Graham Swift will be 'in conversation' on the Friday evening, talking about his new book, Making an Elephant, which explores "what it means to feel that writing and reading are an essential part of living". Wendy Cope will be reading on the Saturday evening in an event sponsored by the University of Winchester. Both authors will be signing books on sale after the events.

Waterstones will be running a bookstall throughout the conference, and there will be book launches for new creative writing publications.

Members are welcome to contact us in order to have their own publications available for sale.

Literaturetraining will also have a stall and will be arranging professional development planning sessions on request.

The conference will include the NAWEâ??Annual General Meeting, an open meeting of the Higher Education Network, and a meeting of the Managers of Writers in School Programmes.

We look forward to welcoming a substantial part of the NAWEâ??membership in all its variety to what promises to be an exceptional weekend.

All enquiries to Gill Greaves, Conference Manager.
