York St John in New York City
Tue 5 Feb 2008
As a result of winning a competition for Business and Communication students at York St John University, Ben Moore saw his prize-winning multimedia work presented as part of NAWE's panel at the AWP conference in New York.

The 'EEL Pie' project (Enabling e-Learning: Project for Innovation in e-Writing) was initiated by Simon Sweeney, Head of Programme, MA International Studies at York St John University. The aim was to encourage students in the Faculty of Business and Communications to get involved in creative writing.

The panel of judges included Paul Munden, NAWE Director, and Sol B River, RFL Fellow at York St John.

The project was funded by the university's CETL, 'C4C'. C4C means Collaborating for Creativity. This is part of the national CETL scheme, whereby YSJU has a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. C4C supports a number of smaller projects, one of which is, EEL - Enabling e-Learning: Creativity in virtual space.

Ben Moore's work combined text, image and sound, all tightly edited into a 3 minute DVD that made a personal and moving statement about global concerns.
