'Reporting Back': NAWE Conference 2008
Mon 31 Mar 2008
Proposals are now invited for the next NAWE Conference, which will be held at Chancellors Hotel & Conference Centre in Manchester, 14-16 November 2008.

Building on our very successful event at The Hawkhills last year, we are once again planning a residential conference this autumn, running from Friday evening through to Sunday midday. We will be aiming for a sense of continued debate, while introducing new topics and dealing with the most current issues that face writers in education working at all levels. There will be special guests on both evenings.

The conference programme will be largely driven by the proposals we receive and we are open to all suggestions. We welcome proposals in the form of panel presentations, papers, discussions or workshops, and we should like to pursue a structured programme with strands covering:

â?¢ Writing in Schools
â?¢ Writing in Higher Education
â?¢ Writing in Community Contexts
â?¢ Writing Workshops (practical sessions)

We are particularly keen to see a wide range of genres represented within each of these strands.

Proposals should consist of a brief (100 word) outline, describing the focus and structure of the session, together with a more detailed description (250 words max) and biographical information on all presenters (50 words each). The suggested length of a session is 75-90 minutes (though sessions may be shared). Please also specify exactly what technical equipment you require. Presenters will have a proportion (20%) of the conference fee waived. Please email proposals to <>.

Deadline for proposals: 31 May
Decisions on proposals: 30 June
Programme published: 31 July
Booking deadline: 15 October
