Literature Works First Page Writing Prize 2015
Deadline: Wed 30 Sep 2015
We’re seeking superb opening pages of unpublished novels (and a 150 word synopsis) from promising writers around the country

We heard from many of the Literary Agents we work with that the decision to invest more time in a new writer is made by the end of the first page of their manuscript – and this gave us the idea to see how gripping a First Page can be.

We’re looking for openings of a novel that make us want to read on, for that compelling first page of a novel that captures the imagination!  All proceeds go to support our Grassroots Literature Fund which provides small grants to community projects to encourage more reading and writing activity across South West England.

The top prize is £1500 and a report from literary agent, Clare Wallace. There are also two runner-up prizes of £400 and £200.

This year’s judge is acclaimed novelist, Imogen Robertson, who is currently Writer in Residence at Plymouth University.
