Writers’ Retreats at Heron’s Reach

Heron’s Reach is a Writers’ Retreat on the idyllic Dingle Peninsula where the
emphasis is on concentrated writing. We offer both supported and ‘knuckle down’
retreats. All supported retreats include appraisal of up to 20 pages of work before the
retreat starts, guidance by a professional writer during the retreat and suggestions of
how to take the work forward after you leave. ‘Knuckle Down’ retreats are for people
who want to concentrate on their work without distractions.

Heron’s Reach is owned by writers Louise Page and Christopher Hawes. Louise
was a member of The Archers’ script writing team for 10 years. Her theatre work has
been performed in over 40 countries and she has won The Critics Circle and George
Devine Award. She has also published a novel and short stories. Chris Hawes has
published several children’s novels, poetry and plays. His work as an opera librettist
and lyricist has been performed in Mauritius, Barbados, LA and New York.

All our award-winning tutors have experience of mentoring writers and have worked
for The Royal Literary Fund.
