We should like to thank both Philippa Johnston and Hilary Jenkins as they take up new challenges.
Philippa Johnston's role within NAWE comes to an end this month, though she will still be available to run coaching and personal development planning sessions on a one-to-one basis. We are also sad to say goodbye to Hilary Jenkins as HE Co-ordinator. Philippa and Hilary have each played an important part in developing new areas of NAWE's work, and we wish them both well in their new endeavours.
Philippa writes: "After ten fantastic years working with The Writer’s Compass, and before that literaturetraining, I must now sadly say goodbye as I leave NAWE to develop my coaching practice and work on writer development projects up here in Scotland and across the UK. I’m very glad to say, however, that I will still have contact with NAWE members as I will be continuing to co-deliver Compass Points (NAWE’s professional development planning and coaching service) alongside Anne Caldwell from my base in Edinburgh. Do keep in touch - I can be contacted on email@example.com
Hilary's association with NAWE originated with her work for the British Council and its international focus on creative writing teaching. The Council was involved in the forming of a Higher Education Network for which NAWE eventually took full responsibility - with Hilary as its first Co-ordinator. The Network has thrived over the past ten years and its significance continues to grow. NAWE's current budget, however, does not cater for a Co-ordinator's post, and all HE enquiries should for now be addressed to Paul Munden
