LossLit is an attempt by its co-creators, Kit Caless and Aki Schilz, to explore the various influences of loss in literature
We particularly welcome submissions from women writers, writers belonging to ethnic minority groups, members of the LGBQT community, and other groups currently under-represented within the industry. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
We are looking for original (i.e., previously unpublished) works in the following categories, and encourage all interpretations of loss, from the sincere to the comic, via social commentary, personal memoir, and creative exploration of subjects including but not limited to: displacement, gender, the environment, bereavement, ageing, memory, nationality, history, politics, sexuality, relationships, love, crisis and faith. For an idea of what we like, please read our past issues and do have a look at our Twitter feed, where we share all contributions to our monthly online
