Becoming a Writer-in-Residence

A half-day workshop for prose writers and poets who are keen to take on a residency to support their work. It includes tips on getting, and getting the most out of, a residency

Sunday 3 November, 2-5pm
The Nelson Hotel, Norwich

The session will cover:

  • Groundwork
  • Choosing what to include
  • Deciding on a running order
  • Writing into the collection
  • Titles
  • How to get feedback
  • Sending it off to publishers

Heidi Williamson was poet-in-residence at the London Science Museum’s Dana Centre for two years, and is currently poet-in-residence for the John Jarrold Printing Museum in Norwich. Her first collection 'Electric Shadow' (Bloodaxe, 2011) was a Poetry Book Society recommendation and shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Centre Prize for Poetry.
