City Lit Short Story Writing: An Online Course
Mon 20 Apr 2015 to Fri 10 Jul 2015
Designed to introduce you to the techniques of good fiction writing and to help you to complete a short story over ten weeks
This course is designed to help you complete an entire, fully formed short story - with a beginning, a middle, and an end - over an eleven-week period. Along the way, we will discuss the basic techniques of fiction writing - point of view, narrative prose (and what it looks like), and the structure inherent in any good piece of short fiction (and what it looks like).

Shaping scenes, characters and sentences will also be discussed, and we will try to develop in you the most important skill that any short story writer needs to learn - how to learn from good short story writers (and one another) by reading!
