Crafting the Second Draft with Karis Halsall
Sat 11 Oct 2014 to Sat 11 Oct 2014
“Don’t get it right, get it written”, is a great motto for inspiring you to put pen to paper and bring the first draft of your play into the world. But what happens once you’ve got it written?

The next steps of then honing your script and getting it ‘right’ can often feel daunting. This is no surprise, considering that the more literary department rejections you receive, the more doors feel closed to your script.

It is therefore essential to ensure that your play is as polished as possible before you send off your script.

This intensive course aims to help you through that process, by highlighting and developing the strengths of your script, as well as working through its weaknesses, and re-evaluating everything within it - from the central question of your piece to the three-dimensionality of your characters.

Led by Karis Halsall, who has several years’ experience working within literary departments, this course aims to help you get your play as ‘rehearsal ready’ as possible, and into great shape - ready to send to Theatres and agents.
