Developing Your Writing Skills
Sat 12 May 2012 to Sat 2 Jun 2012
The aim is that you arrive with an idea and, with our help and guidance, leave with a short story

May 12th/19th/26th and June 2nd 2012 (10am-1pm)

There are a few places left on this four-week workshop, during which time you will develop an idea into a fully-formed short story.

This workshop, taking place over four weeks, is aimed at those who have been writing for some time but wish to acquire tips and strategies to push their work to another level. It has much more to do with refining existing skills, dealing with the topics of plot, character, theme and structure on a much more subtle basis. This is a very hands-on course where you will be workshopping on a weekly basis and expected to produce work. Students come to the first workshop with three ideas for a story. By the end of the four-week course, you will have produced a story based on one of them. In addition to developing your ideas and writing skills, this particular course is about introducing you to a disciplined approach to writing that will enable you to progress and produce.

TUTOR: David Wingrove
