A course for teachers who write (or want to write), with the critically acclaimed poet, Daljit Nagra
Suitable for:
• Teachers of the new Creative Writing A-level, or who are preparing to teach it
• Teachers interested in offering Creative Writing as an enrichment activity at Post-16 level
This course will help you to develop your own writing craft, reflect on your practice, and tackle pedagogical challenges presented by teaching creative writing. There will be workshops, seminars, individual tutorials, and talks by authors about their experience of translating good writing practice into great teaching practice.
Following the course, the Centre for New Writing will establish and host a network and resource bank for continuing support throughout the teaching year.
The venue for the evening meal and overnight accommodation is College Court, the University of Leicester’s conference centre, situated beside the Attenborough Arboretum, which gives it the feel of a countryside retreat.

Course tutors
Course tutors are experienced creative practitioners, former Heads of English and exam board representatives. There will be plenty of time to get to know your tutors and each other.
