The opportunity has arisen for a part time Arts Development Officer to join an innovative and forward thinking division and really make a difference. An enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a real passion for developing art and culture is required to join a forward thinking, motivated team. Elmbridge Leisure and Cultural Services is a fast moving Division dedicated to providing high quality services, which meet the needs of the community and contribute to a better quality of life.

Working within the Leisure Development Team, the suitable candidate will need to have a good knowledge of the arts and local government as well as demonstrable interest in delivering art provision to the local community. The suitable candidate will ideally have a good understanding of running events; teamwork and partnership working and should be self-motivated.

The Arts Development Officer (ADO), reporting directly to the Leisure Development Manager, will be responsible for providing a range of arts opportunities for the local community, arts groups and schools.  They will work with local partners to ensure delivery of events and schemes and explore new partnership opportunities. You must be able to raise awareness to artists about local and national funding. 

To succeed you will ideally need to be motivated, be able to manage a varied work load and have lots of imagination and creativity. You must have the ability to communicate with members of the public, elected Members and officers within the Council and the local press.
