Cumbernauld Theatre seeks a dramaturg interested in engaging with women to help shape their stories for the stage.
'Mothers' is a theatrical conversation between seven women at various life-stages of motherhood. Each of the community participants in the Mothers project is speaking from their own direct, personal experience of what is means to be/have been a mother. In fiction, motherhood has often been portrayed with a strongly sentimentalised perspective. Cumbernauld Theatre’s devised production of Mothers is a no-holds-barred exploration of what is genuinely means to be a Mother, living in a small new town, in Scotland, in 2018.Directed by Amy Angus, this new production will be performed in May 2018, with devising beginning in February 2018 and continuing onwards.
This is a freelance role with a fee based on an agreed number of days as needed according to how the project develops. Each working day will be paid a daily rate of £100. If you're a freelance dramaturg interested in working with the female voice and experience, and in developing a working life outside of the usual city centres, then to apply simply drop us your CV by email to:
