The right candidate will join an energetic team playing a key role in delivering on our ambitious plans for membership and audience growth as part of the Library’s wider vision to play a more active role in inspiring, supporting and sharing creativity of all kinds.

Founded in 1841 and with a collection of over one million books and periodicals, the Library has long been an essential resource for writers, scholars, students and the intellectually curious.

Reporting to the Membership Director - and working closely as part of the new Membership Department with the marketing and communications team - you will play a key role in creating a programme which highlights the Library’s collection, history and place in the cultural landscape.

You will have experience across all aspects of event programming, planning and logistics, and will have good project management skills, enjoying taking an idea from loose concept to successful event while paying close attention to detail at each stage. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a keen commitment to planning and delivering to target.
