General Manager, Moniack Mhor Writers' Centre

Moniack Mhor, Scotland’s Creative Writing Centre, are seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to join our small, dedicated team at Moniack Mhor. Working closely with the Centre Director, the General Manager be responsible for the day to day running of the centre, ensuring courses run smoothly and will act as a host to visiting writers and tutors.

This individual will take shared responsibility in nurturing a welcoming atmosphere, conducive to writing. The post involves close monitoring of budgets and cashflow, taking responsibility for all elements of HR procedures including rotas of work, acting as line manager to some centre staff, and undertaking the role of Health and Safety Officer. The General Manager will take a key role in maintaining the buildings and grounds at Moniack Mhor and ensure that activities meet and integrate with organisational policies such as Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion, Evaluation and Sustainability. Where necessary, this role also includes supporting or taking a lead on partner and other projects.

Moniack Mhor is registered charity and supported by Creative Scotland as a Regularly Funded Organisation 2018 – 2021.

Salary: The annual salary for the post will be £24,000 - £27,000 pro rata gross of tax and other statutory deductions. Starting salary will depend on experience but we would normally appoint at the start of the pay scale.

Hours: 28 hours per week over 4 days including evening and a share of weekend working.
