This is a critical role in the charity, with responsibility for leading our fundraising efforts in order to support First Story’s programme in secondary schools serving low-income communities.  

We are seeking a creative, ambitious and multi-faceted Head of Development with a strong major donor background and a proven track record with corporate giving, as well as experience with individual giving, trust fundraising and a knowledge and experience of securing income across various funding streams.  

We shall consider applicants whose can demonstrate equivalent and transferable skills and experience from other sectors.

This key role offers the opportunity to support the development of the organisation as it expands its activities and seeks to make a step change in its growth strategy.  

The preferred candidate will take forward First Story’s fundraising strategy, managing staff and volunteers to achieve targets.
