Southbank Centre is the UK’s largest arts centre, occupying a 21-acre site at the heart of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames. It is home to the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and The Hayward as well as The Saison Poetry Library and the Arts Council Collection.
The Head of Literature and the Spoken Word is a senior management position reporting to the Artistic Director. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader and an authoritative and credible advocate for the power of literature and the spoken word.
He or she will have a sound knowledge of the wider literary landscape and other art forms, interest in contemporary culture and in working within a digital environment, the ability to identify and maximise entrepreneurial and partnership opportunities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
