Literary Events Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your academic skills with a dynamic events management role contributing to the University of Roehamton
An English Literature and/or Creative Writing graduate with excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, you will be part of a new departmental employability initiative with particular responsibilities for developing a key programme of events.

• To support the planning and delivery of key departmental events
• To work effectively with the university conference team, the alumni office and the departmental communications advisor to communicate and deliver the departmental vision underlying these key events
• To work effectively with members of the department and key external partners to develop and deliver a key programme of events
• To promote these events effectively through print and electronic media
• To provide leadership to student employability teams
• To provide a final report evaluating the events, the progress achieved, the skills developed and the next steps
• To participate in a student/alumni forum in the near future to talk about the experience gained
• Further duties relating to departmental events as agreed with the Head of Department

• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Evidence of research, independent and collaborative working skills
• Enthusiasm for your subject 

Intended measurable outcomes: 

• A portfolio record of events organised
• Relevant knowledge and experience of events management
• Enhanced communication, organisational and IT skills needed for events management
• Experience in the design and delivery of events
• The ability to work effectively with others in a range of roles and situations
• Enhanced liaison and networking skills
• Leadership skills
• Enhanced problem-solving and independent working skills
