The British Council have an excellent opportunity for a Programme Assistant role working on Shakespeare Lives projects within our Literature and Music teams, based in London
You will provide administrative support, project assistance and professional sector liaison, making efficient use of processes and systems to ensure the smooth running and satisfactory delivery of the Shakespeare Lives programme.
Shakespeare Lives is a major programme of events and activities celebrating Shakespeare’s work on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death in 2016, aiming to reach over half a billion people worldwide. The British Council is working with partners including the GREAT Britain campaign and a host of British theatres, museums, educators and artists in an unprecedented programme of global activity that will include a substantial global digital mass participation project as well as brand new productions of Shakespeare’s plays, film adaptations, art exhibitions, public readings and educational resources for schools and English language learners of all ages.
You will have experience of office administration for example organising travel, finance, events and diary management and knowledge of and interest in UK Literature and/or Music sectors. You will have good written and verbal skills, be able to organise own work and plan ahead for a team, be proficient in the use of office software and social media platforms and have experience of communicating regularly with stakeholders, customers and partners.
