The Poetry School is an educational arts charity dedicated to nurturing poetic talent in aid of a dynamic, diverse and popular contemporary poetry for readers and audiences everywhere
The Poetry School is looking for an exceptional administrator to support the organisation in the delivery of its programme of educational activities including its collaborative MA with Newcastle University, the administration of course bookings and enrolments, and general office management at its national offices and classrooms in central London. The role also includes some programming work: it is envisaged that these programming responsibilities will increase as the successful candidate develops within the role.
The successful candidate will be an outgoing, highly-organised team-player, able to hit the ground running and used to juggling multiple and competing priorities within a busy environment. S/he will be a confident, engaging communicator, who enjoys a public-facing coordinator role that involves dealing with a range of people including colleagues, suppliers, artists and writers and students. S/he will be capable of adapting to new situations and developments as they arise, in order to quickly resolve any problems and ensure the smooth running of activities.
This role is challenging in scope and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in arts administration as you will play key supporting role across several crucial areas of work.
